My name is Rick Sweeten and I am a second generation motorsports photographer from South Jersey. My late father, Bob Sweeten, spent nearly 40 years as track photographer at noted dirt tracks in the Northeast including Alcyon Speedway, Reading Fairgrounds, Penn National and Bridgeport Speedway. He relocated to Florida in the early 90s where he concentrated on covering NASCAR racing. He is best known for his well publicized series of the crash that took the life of Dale Earnhardt Sr. in 2001. My first time shooting was at the Schmidts 200 at Reading in 1974 when my dad first handed me one of his cameras and told me to cover turn 2. I have been shooting ever since.
I am a proud member of the Eastern Motorsports Press Association and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I currently shoot Bridgeport Speedway. I also cover New Egypt Speedway, Georgetown Speedway, New Jersey Motorsports Park and various other special events as my schedule allows.
